Being human can present various challenges, and at times, these obstacles may feel overwhelming to tackle alone or even with the support of loved ones. Engaging with effective mental health support provides an opportunity to confront these challenges by way of compassionate guidance and exploration of personal and relational resources.
My goal is to assist individuals and families in moving closer to the lives they envision by offering a nurturing and non-judgmental environment where wounds can be healed, challenging questions explored, and new pathways revealed through psychological therapy.

Welcome! I’m Areana, a Clinical Psychologist with nearly 30 years of experience providing mental health support to children, adolescents, adults, and families across various settings. My work spans community and government mental health services, community counselling agencies, schools, educational environments, and private practice.
I strive to help individuals understand themselves better and navigate the relationships and experiences that have shaped their lives. My approach is rooted in empathy and connection, as I support clients in exploring their paths forward through effective psychological therapy.
I offer psychological support for individuals, couples, and families, including for children aged 8 years and above and adolescents.
Sessions may be conducted either in-person in Coorparoo (Brisbane/Meeanjin) or via telehealth. I support clients who are facing a variety of challenges, including but not limited to:
Anxiety
Depression
Trauma
Grief and loss
Relationship difficulties (with partners, family, peers, or at work)
Peri- and post-natal concerns
Parenting and parenthood (in all its forms)
Family formation and planning
Family functioning (including emotional and behavioral challenges)
Life transitions and adjustment (of which there are many!)
School and work difficulties
Sense of self and identity
Twin/multiple birth experiences
Peri-menopause and menopause concerns
I also offer professional/clinical supervision for psychologists and other professionals, including group and team supervision. This includes supervision for those seeking endorsement as a clinical psychologist.
Please note that I do not conduct formal developmental or diagnostic assessments, nor do I provide reports for the family court or other court proceedings.
